Lots new on Bokor Mountain in 2026.
The Thansur Highland Resort, the big hotel at the top of the mountain, is now Sokha Lihua Chinese Hotel & Casino…… Believe it’s changed it’s name again…… And now it is closed and abandoned.
Chinatown has reappeared on the Mountain.
Nope! It’s completely gone and abandoned now.
The coffee shop at the SOKIMEX gas station has disappeared. And now it has reappeared inside the Mart at the gas station.
The OLD Thansur Sokha has closed down.
Thansur Sokha Hotel (a new one) has appeared on the way up the mountain. Looks like they’re adding a couple hundred extra rooms soon.
And we assume construction of the 108 Meter Buddha Statue continues. But they want to charge me $4 to go take a look….. Still…… In 2026. Hint to the the manager….. You or Heng have our phone number. Still. In 2026.
A new Cafe, halfway up (or down) the mountain with good views. Tmaw Muk Yeay.
And now a second cafe and restaurant right next to it. And a police station to boot. Free bathrooms. Loak Ta Muk Yeak.
A new cafe at the tent camping lake. Very popular.
Bokor Hydroponics seems to have dissappeared.
The road up the mountain is a bit challenging. Monkeys. People stopping in the road to see, feed, and photograph the monkeys. Some potholes. Road crews repairing the potholes. And some really bad drivers. Go slow and you’ll have no problems.
And a new lake. A dam that is for maybe drinking water and/or hydroelectric. Right at the top, before the new abandoned casino. (not the Old casino)
